The "Official Circle of Friends of the Vienna State Opera" and the "Circle of Friends of the Vienna State Ballet" were established in the 2020/21 season. The sponsorship contributions are dedicated exclusively and for a specific purpose to opening the opera house to new audiences, promoting young artists and expanding the Vienna State Ballet's health care program.
The "Official Circle of Friends of the Vienna State Opera" supports the Opera Studio, the Opera School and the activities of the Outreach Department, among others.
With the opening of the NEST, the Official Circle of Friends has become even more important. The generous contributions of its members make the Official Circle of Friends one of the most important sponsors of the Vienna State Opera and are decisive in the realization of the creative operation and the implementation of the repertoire at NEST. The Official Circle of Friends also plays a significant financial role in the construction of NEST.
Membership of one of the friends' groups enables you to actively participate in the social and cultural life of the theater. Meetings with artists, visits to ballet rehearsals and insights behind the scenes are all on offer. Other popular benefits include exclusive advance purchase rights for tickets to selected performances even before they officially go on sale.
