Since the 2020/21 season, the "labs" of the Vienna State Opera have been developing plays themselves: in the Opera Lab, Dance Lab and the cross-generational CityLab, entire productions are developed over the course of a season. Anyone and everyone can take part; the results will be presented at NEST!
Le Grand Finale, developed by the Tanzlabor ensemble and inspired by the dance piece Pathétique byMartin Schläpfer, deals with the questions "How do I live and celebrate finiteness?", "Who are my own opponents that I want to defeat?" and "With whom do I celebrate the big party at the end?"
On this evening, the grand finale is just around the corner: we play the last act over and over again until we can be sure that the game is over. Then the final boss is defeated. But did everyone play by the rules?
